The appearance of the new generation BMW M2 (code G87) in Vietnam not only adds a high-performance model to the genuine BMW M product line but also marks the presence of a small coupe model that remains loyal to the philosophy of sports cars with rear-wheel drive.
As the smallest car in the BMW M family, the M2 is developed in the direction of prioritizing the driving experience instead of increasing size or supporting technology. The G87 generation continues to use a two-door coupe configuration, short wheelbase and nearly balanced weight distribution ratio, factors that are highly appreciated by experts for a performance car model.
In terms of design, the BMW M2 has a different appearance compared to the M3 and M4 when using a small kidney grille instead of a lengthened style. BMW's continued equipment of the S58 engine for the M2 is considered a technical highlight of the new generation. Compared to the previous generation, the model not only significantly increased power but also inherited many technologies from the higher-end M lines, while still maintaining compact dimensions and flexible control characteristics.
In addition, the BMW M2 is equipped with Adaptive M suspension, M Sport active differential, M high-performance brake and M Drive Professional package. These are all equipment aimed at optimizing road grip, cornering ability and power control when operating at high speeds.
The appearance of the BMW M2 G87 shows the trend of maintaining pure sports cars in the context that many car manufacturers are gradually shifting to electrification. With a 6-cylinder engine configuration combined with rear-wheel drive, the M2 is still considered one of the performance coupe models imbued with the traditional identity of the BMW M.
