Introduced at the 2024 Turin Motor Show, the Jimny Mata features many distinctive design features, combined with styling improvements.
In terms of design, the Jimny Mata features a two-tone Metallic Siberian Silver finish and matte black accents. The classic grille and aluminium fenders add to the vehicle’s rugged look. The model also features 15-inch alloy wheels, which enhance its performance.
The interior of the Jimny Mata keeps the design minimalist but still full of amenities. The dashboard has a numbered plate for each car, and is equipped with a 7-inch infotainment system, Pioneer audio, a rear camera and basic safety features. The cargo area is lined with rubber mats, making it easy to clean.
In terms of performance, the Jimny Mata is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, producing 101 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque. The transmission system is designed to transmit power to all 4 wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. Notably, this version is only produced as a 2-seat commercial vehicle (LCV), in accordance with European emission regulations.
The name "Mata" in Japanese means "once again, overcome", reflecting the message that this may be the last chance to own this model before Suzuki temporarily stops production.
The company also said it is developing a fully electric version and future hybrid models. Customers in Italy can order the Jimny Mata starting November 30.
