According to Can Tho City Police, in the first 6 months of 2025, the political security situation in the city will continue to be maintained stably, without any sudden or surprising situations.
Focus on synchronously deploying solutions in preventing, fighting, suppressing, investigating, and handling all types of crimes; effectively implementing 36 peaks, attacking and suppressing all types of crimes; the security and order situation has had many positive changes.
Specifically, for crimes against social order decreased by 13.66% compared to the same period; crimes such as robbery, murder, intentional injury, fraud, property appropriation, sexual assault, property theft... were restrained and reduced; organized forces to eradicate 379 social evils; prosecuted 35 cases of high-tech crimes, 258 cases of economic crimes, corruption, drugs and the environment, etc.
The implementation of online public services has created positive changes, bringing great value, forming habits of the people; the rate of receiving online records on the Public Service Portal system of the City Police in the first 6 months of 2025 reached 86.95%.
Resolutely implement solutions, highlights, plans, and thematic plans on ensuring traffic order and safety... have sanctioned 47,465 cases of administrative violations with an amount of VND 93.2 billion; revoked 5,698 driving licenses, certificates, and professional certificates; deducted driving license points for 3,287 cases and temporarily detained 12,891 violating vehicles. In particular, the number of traffic accidents in the area has decreased by 7.2% compared to the same period.
Regarding fire prevention and fighting, inspected 1,131 facilities, sub-fields, vehicles, etc., detected and fined 27 cases of administrative violations with an amount of 97.55 million VND; developed and approved 65 plans, coordinated to organize 161 fire fighting and rescue drills; reduced 41.2% of fires in the area.
Regarding the results in implementing all aspects of public security work since implementing the 2-level local government organization model, accordingly, after the arrangement and merger, the City Police has 29 department-level units and equivalent, 103 commune-level police and 2 police stations have been put into operation since July 1, 2025 in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Public Security and synchronously with the entire political system.
