The Ministry of Public Security is proposing standards for cameras for remote fines, including speed recording types.

The Ministry of Public Security is drafting a Circular amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular No. 62/2024/TT-BCA, promulgating the National Technical Regulation on "Surveillance systems to ensure security, order, and traffic safety on roads".

Accordingly, the standard of traffic cameras has the ability to accurately recognize license plates up to 93% during the day, 80% at night, and measure speeds from 10 km/h to 180 km/h.

According to the draft, automatic speed measuring devices with recording using laser sensor technology have the following operating features:

Data transmitted to the regional server cluster or traffic monitoring center includes: Photos of vehicles with license plates, data on speed, location, time, license plate recognition data.
