The car belongs to the 5th generation Ford Mustang, also known for its internal code S197, produced in the period 2005-2014. In Vietnam, the number of Mustangs of this generation is not too rare, but cars that retain the original configuration, especially the convertible version, are quite difficult to find.
The Mustang appearing this time is painted black, combined with shiny chrome-plated details. The car uses silver alloy wheels and a black fabric roof, creating a typical classic look of the American muscle car line. The overall exterior shows no signs of strong design intervention, unlike the trend of modifications and upgrades commonly seen in many models of the same generation.
The fifth generation Ford Mustang was first introduced in 2005, after being launched at the North American International Auto Show 2004. This model developed on a completely new D2C platform, under the direction of chief engineer Hau Thai-Tang and Ford's design team. The design of the S197 is imbued with a "future nostalgia" style, reminiscent of the Mustang fastback models of the late 1960s. The car is produced at the Flat Rock factory, Michigan (USA).
In the period 2005-2010, the standard Mustang version was equipped with a 4.0L V6 SOHC engine, with a capacity of 210 horsepower. Meanwhile, the GT version uses a 4.6L SOHC V8 Modular engine, with a capacity of 300 horsepower. 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmissions are equipped depending on the version.
By 2010, the Ford Mustang was upgraded with some design changes, notably the sequential LED taillights and improved wind resistance. The GT version also refined the engine, increasing power to 315 horsepower, accompanied by many improvements in suspension and safety technologies.
The appearance of a 5th generation Ford Mustang convertible that still retains its original features shows the enduring appeal of the American muscle car line, and also reflects the increasingly diverse car hobby of Vietnamese users.
