According to initial information, in the early morning of May 16, a passenger car with a Ha Giang province license plate was traveling on Thang Long bridge, from Dong Anh to Mai Dich when it suddenly caught fire.
The witness said that they saw smoke and fire coming from the back of the vehicle. Discovering the incident, the driver quickly drove the car to park on the right side of the bridge and used a handheld fire extinguisher to put out the fire but failed.
A few minutes later, the fire broke out quickly, causing the car's windows to break and black smoke to cover the vehicle.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of Dong Anh Sub-area quickly arrived and extinguished the fire after about 10 minutes.
Initially, it was determined that there were no human casualties in the fire, property damage is being counted.
At 6:00 a.m. the same day, the vehicle was towed off the scene by Road Traffic Police Team No. 15 (Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police) to ensure traffic.
