After a journey of more than 260km from Ho Chi Minh City, this luxury SUV continues to be moved into the forest area, moving through dirt roads and trails to approach the campsite located next to the stream. This is a terrain suitable for the design philosophy of the Mercedes-AMG G63 - a line developed based on an off-road platform, with a detachable chassis, full-time four-wheel drive system and large ground clearance.
Compared to the familiar image on the street or highway, the Mercedes-AMG G63 appears in the middle of a pine forest, bringing a different perspective on performance. Notably, the car in this journey is not a standard version but possesses an appearance in Brabus 800 Widestar style, a high-end upgrade package from a famous German tuning company.
The Brabus 800 Widestar was developed from the Mercedes-AMG G63 but is comprehensively redesigned in appearance. The body is expanded with a characteristic widebody, combined with aerodynamic details and unique aesthetic highlights, making the SUV more imposing and aggressive than the original version, while increasing recognition on all terrains.
Technically, the original Mercedes-AMG G63 uses a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine, producing 577 horsepower and a maximum torque of 850 Nm. When upgraded by Brabus to the 800 Widestar configuration, the engine is deeply tuned, increasing power to about 789 horsepower and torque reaching 1,000 Nm, accompanied by upgrades to the exhaust system and engine management.
Thanks to its superior power, the Brabus 800 Widestar is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4.1 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited maximum speed of 240 km/h. These parameters show a clear difference between a complete Brabus and G63 models that only upgrade their appearance, while affirming the versatility of the high-performance SUV line when operating both on asphalt roads and in complex terrain conditions.
