According to the company, this model will outperform the 1049 horsepower Mercedes-AMG One V6/electric hybrid model using an F1 engine.
The Mercedes-AMG styling is designed specifically for AMG electric vehicles and has a modular design. Therefore, it can be used on vehicles with different wheelbases and track widths. This design can also be adapted to many different types of vehicles.
According to the company, similar designs will be used in upcoming production versions of the Vision AMG — an electric replacement for the current AMG GT 4-door Coupe.
The new Mercedes-AMG supercar will use an 800V electric motor and a new cylindrical lithium-ion battery. The car will be powered by a high-speed, shaft-mounted magnetic flux electric motor manufactured by the British company Yasa.
The engine has also been used for the plug-in hybrid system in the 986-horsepower Ferrari SF90 Stradale and the 1,479-plus-horsepower Koenigsegg Regera. The new model's flux-shaft engine is said to be on par with other AMG V8 petrol engines.
“Customers come to us because they like the technology we put into our cars,” Mercedes-AMG CEO told reporters. “So when it comes to electric cars, I’m confident they’ll embrace this new technology because it’s the latest and greatest.”
