Because the number of these car models in Vietnam is not large, every time a GT-R R35 rolls on the street, it receives special attention from car enthusiasts.
GT-R R35 is a high-performance supercar generation developed and produced by Nissan in the period from 2007 to officially stop the production line in 2025. This model is considered a descendant of the Skyline GT-R, but has separated from the Skyline line to become an independent product line.
The car has a 2+2 seat configuration, the engine is placed in the front but reverses deeply to optimize weight distribution. Full-time four-wheel drive is a standard equipment, combined with a body structure using mixed materials including steel, aluminum and carbon fiber, helping to increase torsion stiffness while reducing overall weight.
GT-R R35 is developed on the PM platform - an upgraded variant from the FM architecture used for Skyline and Nissan Z. The "heart" of the car is the VR38DETT twin-turbo engine, accompanied by a dual-clutch gearbox and ATTESA E-TS Pro drive system. This is also one of the pioneering commercial models integrated with a launch control system and four-wheel drive system with a powertrain cluster located at the rear.
Notably, the GT-R R35 was once a key project in Nissan's revival strategy in the early 2000s. After about 7 years of research and testing, the commercial version of this model was officially launched at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. The entire production process was carried out at the Tochigi factory (Japan).
