Circular 47/2024 of the Ministry of Transport clearly states that the process of checking and evaluating the technical safety and environmental protection status of motor vehicles is carried out according to regulations on motor vehicle inspection.
The standard includes 5 inspection stages, including: Identification, general; inspection of the upper part of the vehicle; inspection of braking efficiency and side slip; environmental inspection; inspection of the lower part of the vehicle.
If the motor vehicle has satisfactory inspection results, it will be issued an inspection certificate and have an inspection sticker affixed according to regulations.
Regarding inspection stamps, Circular 47 stipulates that there are 3 types corresponding to 3 colors, including green, yellow, and purple-pink stamps.

In particular, the green inspection stamp is used for motor vehicles using clean energy, green energy (electric vehicles), and environmentally friendly.
Purple pink inspection stamp for specialized motorbikes.
The orange inspection sticker is used for other motor vehicles.
The validity period of the inspection stamp is issued according to the inspection cycle, but does not exceed the expiration date of the vehicle registration certificate, or until December 31 of the year the vehicle's usage period expires.

Regarding the method of affixing the inspection sticker, for vehicles (including cars, four-wheeled passenger vehicles, four-wheeled cargo vehicles and some specialized motorbikes) with a control compartment (cabin) and equipped with a front windshield, the inspection sticker is affixed at the upper right corner (in the direction of the vehicle's forward motion), on the inside of the front windshield; the front of the sticker faces outward.
For trailers, semi-trailers and specialized motorbikes, the inspection sticker must be equipped with a protective layer during use. The front side must be protected with transparent material to observe the content, and be pasted (or attached) to the vehicle in easily observable locations, limiting external impacts that affect the durability of the inspection sticker during vehicle movement. The front side of the inspection sticker must face outwards.
The inspection sticker is affixed by the inspection facility's staff in case the vehicle is inspected at the inspection facility; the vehicle owner affixes it himself in case the vehicle is exempt from inspection for the first time or is inspected outside the inspection facility or is reissued.
