Fining nearly 100 million VND to driver and passenger car owner for traffic safety violations

THANH TUẤN |

Gia Lai - Functional agencies fine drivers and owners of transport businesses for serious violations in transportation and traffic safety.

On June 4, Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 (Traffic Police Department of Gia Lai Provincial Police) said that they had just made a record of fining nearly 100 million VND related to the case of a 16-seater passenger car driver without a driver's license (GPLX) traveling on the Ho Chi Minh road.

Previously, on the morning of June 2, a resident reported through the social network Zalo of the Traffic Police Department about the incident of a 16-seater passenger car driver running the Krong Pa - Pleiku route without a driver's license as prescribed but still driving a passenger car.

The Traffic Police Department directed the Traffic Police force of Gia Lai Provincial Police to urgently verify. At about 8:40 am on the same day, when the passenger car reached Km 1627+990 on the Ho Chi Minh road, the task force of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 requested the driver to stop the car for inspection.

Through this, it was determined that the driver was D. X. H. (born 2003, residing in Phu Tuc commune). This driver only presented a C-class driver's license while driving a vehicle that did not match the licensed class.

At the same time, the passenger transport business vehicle was equipped with a journey monitoring device, but the device did not operate according to regulations.

Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 has made a record and fined the driver for the offense of driving a vehicle that is not in accordance with the current driver's license, driving a transport business vehicle with a journey monitoring device that does not operate according to regulations.

The owner of the transport business who handed over the vehicle to H. when he did not meet the conditions to drive according to regulations was also fined.

Over the past time, many serious traffic accidents have occurred related to 16-seater Ford Transit passenger cars, causing people to worry.

These vehicles often speed, compete for passengers on short routes, and violate traffic safety.
