As usual, on the first day of Lunar New Year, Hanoi streets were quite deserted and clear. However, despite the absence of any traffic police, many people still patiently waited for the red light.
Mr. Dang Van Hao, who lives in Bac Tu Liem, shared that his hometown is Ha Tinh, so this year he did not have time to return home for Tet. While participating in traffic in Hanoi on the first day of Tet, he patiently waited for the red light.
“Currently, the system of cameras to issue fines is dense in Hanoi. Meanwhile, the fine for running a red light is very high, so traffic participants strictly comply,” Mr. Hao shared.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thanh from Bac Ninh said that today her family just drove home to celebrate Tet. The journey home is more than 50km, Ms. Thanh always reminded her husband to drive carefully and not run red lights. When everyone obeys traffic laws, she herself also feels safer.
