Lead car prices increase slightly, Grande decrease sharply
At the end of March 2025, entering April, Honda Lead 2025 recorded a slight price increase at dealers nationwide.
The standard version of Lead has a suggested price of about 39.55 million VND, but the dealer price has reached 41 million VND.
The high-end version is sold at 45 million VND and the special edition with ABS is pushed up to 48 million VND, about 2-3 million VND higher than the suggested price. The rolling price in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi ranges from 47.2 million VND to 54.5 million VND depending on the version.
In contrast to Lead, Yamaha Grande 2025 is being discounted quite strongly by Yamaha dealers to stimulate demand. The standard version has a suggested price of 46.24 million VND but the dealer price is only about 44.2 million VND.
Special and limited editions of ABS have dealer prices of 48.8 million and 49.5 million VND respectively, 1 to nearly 2 million VND lower than the suggested price.
However, Grande's rolling prices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi are higher than Lead, ranging from 50.5 million to 56.2 million VND because Grande's initial suggested price is already higher.
Thus, considering the selling price at dealers alone, Lead is dominating at a lower starting price. However, with the final rolling price, the two models are almost on par with the standard version, while the Grande is somewhat better in price in the high-end and limited editions.
Technical comparison
Honda Lead 2025 continues to promote the traditional strength of extremely large trunks with a capacity of up to 37 liters, a big plus for female consumers, especially those who need space for helmets, handbags, and personal items.
The trunk of high-end and special versions also has integrated headlights and convenient partition plates. This year, Lead has been refined in the turn signal and headlights to bring a new, more modern look. The front storage compartment is expanded and equipped with a USB-C charging port.
In terms of engine, Lead uses an eSP+ 4 valve cooling block with a solution, maximum capacity of 8.22 kW at 8,500 rpm, maximum torque of 11.7 Nm at 5,250 rpm.
With these parameters, Lead 2025 promises to provide a smooth acceleration feeling, stable operation and fuel economy. Both high-end and special editions are equipped with front-wheel ABS brakes, improving safety.
Meanwhile, Yamaha Grande 2025 is designed with fashion and personality. The vehicle has a slimmer body, weighing only about 100 - 101 kg, suitable for female users with a compact body.
The 27-liter trunk is not as big as Lead but is still enough to accommodate basic items. Notably, the fuel tank is designed at the front, making it more convenient to fill up with gas.
Grande is equipped with a Blue Core Hybrid engine combined with an electric motor to support acceleration, helping the vehicle operate smoothly, fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly. The car's power reaches 6.1 kW at 6,500 rpm, maximum torque of 10.4 Nm at 5,000 rpm is slightly lower than Lead but compensates for the gentle driving feeling.
Stop & Start System temporary engine shutdown system, quick start with a button press, LED lights, LCD clock and Smartkey smart lock are valuable utilities that help Grande score points for technology-loving users.
Technically, Lead is superior to Grande in engine power when both power and torque are higher. This helps Lead to be more heavily transported, especially in daily conditions such as taking children to school, shopping or work.
On the contrary, Grande is lighter than Lead by nearly 15kg, suitable for users who need flexible, easy-to-drive, and easy-to-control vehicles in crowded urban areas. Although the trunk capacity is not as large as Lead, Yamaha has cleverly calculated to compensate with other utilities such as front gas tank, modern LCD dashboard and the ability to connect to the Yamaha Connect application.
In terms of size, Lead is slightly longer and wider, while Grande is 18 mm thicker, providing a straight and comfortable sitting position. Both cars use 12-inch wheels in the front, but Grande uses 12-inch rear wheels with 10-inch Lead which slightly affects the stability of moving at high speeds, but not too different in actual use.
