Hanoi bus driver uses phone while driving, receives ticket after a few hours

Hanoi - Just a few hours after being recorded using a phone while driving a bus on Vo Van Kiet street, the bus driver was fined by traffic police.

Information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of Hanoi City Police, on the afternoon of August 1st, the unit received information from the Traffic Police Department about a bus driver with license plate 29F-004. xx using a phone while driving on Vo Van Kiet street.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department Command directed Road Traffic Police Team No. 15 to urgently organize verification. By professional measures, in the afternoon of the same day, the unit identified the driver of bus license plate 29F-004. xx as Mr. Nguyen Huu T (born in 1976, residing in Hanoi) and invited him to the headquarters to work.

At the police station, Mr. Nguyen Huu T admitted that at about 2:40 PM on August 1st, while driving a bus with license plate 29F-004. xx on Vo Van Kiet street, he used his hand to hold and use his phone while driving the vehicle.

Based on the verification results and images from the journey monitoring camera, Road Traffic Police Team No. 15 made a record of administrative violation against Mr. Nguyen Huu T for the act of "Using a hand to hold and use a phone while driving a vehicle", as stipulated in point h, clause 5, Article 6 of Decree No. 168/2024/ND-CP of the Government.

For the above act, Mr. T was fined from 4 - 6 million VND and had 4 points of his driver's license deducted.

The Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police recommends that vehicle drivers absolutely do not use phones by hand while driving; focus on observing and strictly complying with the provisions of law to ensure safety for themselves and traffic participants.
