Drivers and passengers are satisfied with the "scrap" of S2S technology
Amid the busy schedule of work, many parents are worried about taking their children to school. Although technology vehicles are a popular solution, concerns about safety are still present.
Recently, SM Green taxi is the first car brand in Vietnam to equip all electric taxis with the S2S (Secure to Safe) safety monitoring system, especially for children, women and the elderly. This system makes passengers and drivers more assured. Ms. Hoang Thi Sinh (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi) shared: "When I learned that the vehicle had surveillance cameras, I felt much more secure when sending my child to school."
It is known that the S2S system includes an in- and out-of-vehicle surveillance camera, an emergency button in both the driver and passenger positions, a smart sensor and integrated AI software to help analyze behavior and detect abnormalities in real time. When there is an incident or sign of danger, the system immediately sends a signal to the Operations Center to mobilize support from the nearest SM Green drivers or authorities.
To ensure privacy and comfort for customers, the surveillance camera in the vehicle is only activated automatically during high-risk security hours from 10pm to 6am the next morning, and only turned on when customers request during the remaining time. The data will be encrypted and automatically deleted after 48 hours if there are no complaints from related parties. All images will be absolutely confidential and will only be extracted to the authorities as required by law.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Global General Director of GSM Company - said: Equip the S2S safety monitoring system for the entire taxi fleet to improve safety standards, transparency and service quality of Xanh SM. Xanh SM is committed to constantly improving to become the safest taxi company, especially bringing a sense of security, comfort and friendliness to children, women and the elderly.
Information about the S2S system has received positive reviews from the community. Many guests shared their satisfaction because passengers will have an additional shield to protect themselves from unexpected situations.
For drivers, S2S is also considered a useful solution to help drivers feel more secure throughout the working process, especially during night, in areas with few people or when serving customers with unclear information.
"I strongly agree with the installation of a monitoring system on the vehicle. With surveillance cameras, both drivers like me and passengers feel more secure, especially when working overnight or going into deserted areas" - Mr. Nguyen Van Minh - SM Green driver in Hanoi - shared.

transparent operation, absolute security of personal data
One of the outstanding differences of the S2S system comes from the way Xanh SM finds a balance between ensuring safety and respecting the privacy of passengers.
Instead of 24/7 monitoring like many other systems, in-vehi cameras are automatically activated during high-security risk times - from 10pm to 6am the next morning. Outside this time limit, the camera will only be turned on when requested by passengers, ensuring maximum privacy and giving users initiative.
All data from surveillance cameras is encrypted and automatically deleted after 48 hours of storage and can only be accessed when officially requested by the authorities.
According to traffic expert Nguyen Xuan Toan, the direction of Xanh SM is very encouraging and in line with the trend of developing safety technology in many advanced countries.
He gave an example, in Germany, the personal data protection law (GDPR) requires public surveillance camera systems and on vehicles to clearly announce, limit storage time and not record continuously. In the US, some states such as California also have strict regulations on accessing and using data from in-vehicle cameras, requiring transparency in notification, not using it for commercial purposes and only recording in specific situations.
With this approach of Xanh SM, S2S is both a monitoring tool and a humane, transparent, secure and user-respecting technology solution - while still ensuring the highest safety standards for both drivers and passengers - Mr. Toan emphasized.
From a market perspective, Mr. Toan assessed that the implementation of the S2S system is a clear demonstration of Xanh SM's pioneering commitment to setting a new safety and transparency standard for the technology transportation industry in Vietnam.
"The market standards will be gradually raised, bringing sustainable benefits to customers, drivers and businesses" - said transport expert Nguyen Xuan Toan.
