Although production has stopped since 2012, the Mazda RX-8 is still sought after by car enthusiasts. In Vietnam, the number of these models is not much, especially the red version is even rarer, causing a stir at any revealed model.
Mazda RX-8 belongs to the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) line - a term that refers to cars manufactured exclusively for the Japanese market. These are car lines that often have unique designs, engines and technologies, imbued with Japanese technical identity.
The RX-8 that was spotted this time stands out with a bright red exterior, 5-spoke single-spoke wheels painted dark, creating a strong and unique appearance.
In Vietnam, the price of Mazda RX-8 ranges from 300 million to 1 billion VND, depending on the condition of the vehicle and the "etat" as well as the rarity. There have even been cars advertised for sale at over 1.2 billion VND but still have buyers, proving that the appeal of this model has not cooled down.
The Mazda RX-8 was produced from 2003 to 2012, succeeding the famous RX-7 model. The special feature of the RX-8 is the rotary Wankel engine - a rare form of engine on the market. This engine block helps the car reach a capacity of 189 horsepower and 222 Nm of torque in the standard version. In total, about 192,000 RX-8s are produced worldwide.
However, since 2010, this model has been eliminated from many markets, including Europe, due to not meeting emission standards and declining sales.
However, with an un outdated design and a reputation in the sports car enthusiast community, the Mazda RX-8 is still an irreplaceable "JDM icon", and each appearance is a once in a while that makes car enthusiasts buzz.
