At around 7:20 p.m. on August 16, a BMW car was running on Ngo Quyen Street (at the intersection with Hai Ba Trung Street, Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi) when it suddenly caught fire.
According to witnesses, the fire started in the car's underpass, then engulfed the front of the car. The driver and many people used mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire but failed.

Immediately after receiving the report, the Hanoi City Police Command sent the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team No. 7 along with specialized vehicles and officers and soldiers to urgently approach the scene.
In a short time, the fire was completely extinguished, not allowing it to spread to other vehicles and crowded areas.
The fire did not cause any human casualties, but the BMW car was severely damaged.
The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
