Currently, the weather in Gia Lai province is getting harsh, dry and unpredictable. The temperature remains high in 82 communes and wards; forest fire forecasts are issued at level IV (dangerous) and V (extremely dangerous), posing a high risk of forest fire.
Most recently, on August 1, a serious acacia forest fire occurred in Binh Hiep commune. At around 10am, Mr. Nguyen Van N (born in 2019, residing in Thuan Hanh village) discovered a fire breaking out in the southwest of his family's acacia field, so he shouted to the people to put out the fire. By 12:00, the fire was temporarily controlled, but only 2 hours later the fire broke out again.

The Commune Police and local authorities mobilized people to participate in extinguishing the fire. However, the fire quickly spread to the glue area of 2 other households, causing difficulties in control work.
By 4:00 p.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished, burning down more than 7,000 square meters of about 5-year-old acacia forest of 3 households. The initial cause was determined to be due to careless beekeeping.
In addition to the above incident, the province also recorded 2 cases of forest fires in Dak So Mei commune and Hoai Nhon Bac ward, causing damage to forest resources.

In this situation, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province requested heads of departments, branches and 82 localities to strictly implement the motto "room is the main thing, timely and thorough fire fighting"; especially focusing on the safety of people's lives and property participating in fire fighting.
The People's Committees of communes and wards must urgently strengthen the Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting Steering Committee (PCCCR); strengthen inspection and supervision and consider this a key task. Strengthen propaganda work to raise awareness and responsibility of the community, especially people living near forests, along forests and forest owners.
The forces are assigned to be on duty 24/24 hours, regularly patrolling key areas, strictly controlling people entering and leaving the forest in high-risk areas. Organizations, individuals, and households burning ground cover and cashew nuts in the fields must notify the authorities and forest rangers to control and prevent the fire from spreading.
When a forest fire occurs, the Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level must directly direct and mobilize local forces and vehicles to promptly extinguish the fire, minimize damage to property and forest resources and ensure the safety of firefighting participants.
Strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate regulations on fire prevention and fighting, especially the responsibility of the head if a forest fire occurs in the management area.
