Audi has just announced the launch of a new brand called "AUDI", a step in its strategic cooperation with SAIC (China) to develop pure electric vehicles.
The brand will not use Audi's signature four-ring logo, but instead a new symbol.
The first model under the AUDI brand, tentatively called the AUDI E Concept, is expected to hit the market in the summer of 2025.
The brand will operate independently, with models produced primarily for the Chinese market.
The AUDI E Concept has a completely new design compared to current Audi models. The headlights and taillights are designed to be hidden under the hood, with a triangular shape that creates a dynamic lighting effect.
The illuminated "AUDI" logo on the body makes it easy to identify. The interior of the car is clearly different from traditional Audi models, with a large display screen stretching across the cabin, integrated digital rearview mirror and high-tech features such as AUDI OS and personalized face recognition.
Technically, the AUDI E Concept has overall dimensions of length x width x height of 4,870mm x 1,990mm x 1,460mm. The car has a wheelbase of 2,950mm.
The car is equipped with a 100kWh three-component lithium battery, 800V architecture, allowing a travel range of up to 700km.
The car uses a dual-motor system (front and rear), with the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. Driving features include progressive front-wheel steering, full-time 4-wheel steering and air suspension.
The Audi-SAIC project is expected to produce three electric models over the next three years, with the first model expected to launch in 2025.
Although the AUDI E Concept is still a concept car for now, production and deliveries will begin after about 18 months of development, significantly shortening the usual development cycle in the automotive industry.
