On November 11, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Vice Chairman of Bich Dao Ward People's Committee, Ninh Binh City said that regarding the people's petition on environmental pollution and noise pollution caused by the activities of Ninh Binh Machinery Manufacturing Joint Stock Company (headquartered on Phuc Thinh Street, Bich Dao Ward), on the afternoon of November 10, the Ward People's Committee organized a dialogue between representatives of the Company's leaders and nearly 60 households.
The dialogue also had the participation of representatives of the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Monitoring (under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment), representatives of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ninh Binh city.
At the dialogue, the residents requested that Ninh Binh Machinery Manufacturing Joint Stock Company immediately stop sandblasting to remove rust from the outside of the factory, and at the same time take measures to collect dust, preventing it from being released outside and flying into people's homes...
"Ninh Binh Machinery Manufacturing Joint Stock Company also admitted that recently, because workers did not operate machinery according to technical procedures during the sandblasting process to remove rust, dust was released outside, affecting the surrounding people," said Mr. Dung.
Also according to Mr. Dung, at the dialogue, the representative of Ninh Binh Machinery Manufacturing Joint Stock Company committed to overcome the pollution situation, at the same time, invest in additional water spraying systems and dust collection systems.
"At the dialogue, the representative of the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Monitoring committed to measuring dust indexes at 5 different locations and at different times at Ninh Binh Machinery Manufacturing Joint Stock Company. After receiving the assessment results from the professional agency, we will respond to the people in writing," Mr. Dung affirmed.
Previously, on October 7, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Ninh Binh Machinery Manufacturing Company's production activities cause pollution", reflecting on Ninh Binh Machinery Manufacturing Joint Stock Company's production activities, sandblasting to remove rust causing serious environmental pollution.
On October 8, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ninh Binh province issued Document No. 2821/STNMT-MTBD Ninh Binh, sent to the People's Committee of Ninh Binh city, requesting to organize an inspection of compliance with legal regulations on environmental protection and strictly handle violations (if any) of Ninh Binh Machinery Manufacturing Joint Stock Company.
