On July 15, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department of Hung Yen Department of Health issued a decision to investigate and verify information about a number of people eating pork intestines and intestines at a restaurant in Dong Ky village, An Vi (Quynh An commune, Hung Yen province) suspected of being infected with the bacteria that killed the pig's spleen.
On the same day, the working group of the Hung Yen Food Safety and Hygiene Department, together with representatives of the Provincial Center for Disease Control, Dong Hai Commune Health Station, and Quynh An Commune authorities, went to Dong Ky village (Quynh An commune) to investigate and verify the information of some people eating pork offal and pork intestines at the restaurant suspected of being infected with porc connective bacteria. At the same time, investigate, verify information, trace the origin of livestock and slaughterhouses suspected of being infected with pork connective bacteria here, organize samples for food safety testing when necessary...
Initial information, on July 5 to 6, 17 people from An Vi and Dong Ky villages ate portion soup at three nearby restaurants in Dong Ky village. After that, 6 out of 17 people had to be taken to hospitals in Hung Yen province and Hanoi for examination and treatment.
By July 8, out of 6 cases admitted to the hospital for treatment, 2 people had died. These two victims were identified as Mr. T.V.D (born in 1974, residing in Dong Ky village) and Mr. N.D.T (born in 1970, residing in An Vi village).
Dong Hai Health Station has reported to local leaders; at the same time, together with health station staff and commune police, monitor and investigate information about cases, people eating breakfast at restaurants, and epidemiological factors related to breakfast with pork and pork offal in Dong Ky village.
