On July 23, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health) sent a document to the Director of Hai Phong City Department of Health requesting urgent verification and handling of the case of a female nurse of Hai Duong General Hospital being assaulted by a group of people at the hospital and her private house.
Previously, information spread on social networks about a female medical staff member of Hai Duong General Hospital being assaulted right at her workplace, then continued to be cursed and threatened at her home.
According to the shared content, at about 4:30 pm on July 21, at the Department of Neurology - Hai Duong General Hospital, a female medical staff member was cursed, insulted and assaulted by a group of 3 people (including 2 men and 1 woman).
At about 6 pm on the same day, when the female medical staff returned to her private residence, the group of people continued to curse, threaten and throw a bunch of keys with sharp ends at her temples, causing the victim to bleed profusely and have to be hospitalized for emergency treatment.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Hai Duong General Hospital said that the hospital has grasped information about the incident and is conducting verification.
Regarding the incident, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management said that, according to press information reflected on July 22 about "The head nurse of the Department of Neurology, Hai Duong General Hospital was assaulted by a group of people in the hospital and private house, leading to hospitalization", this is a serious incident, causing insecurity and disorder in the hospital and negatively affecting patients as well as medical examination and treatment activities.
The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management requested the Director of Hai Phong City Department of Health to direct the continued focus on timely treatment for the injured female nurse; proactively verify and coordinate with law enforcement agencies to investigate and clarify the case and strictly handle it according to the provisions of law. At the same time, the Department requested to strengthen security and order measures at medical examination and treatment facilities; establish and maintain a monitoring and warning system for security risks, implement solutions according to the 2023 Law on Medical Examination and Treatment and directives of the Ministry of Health to ensure safety for medical staff, patients and medical examination and treatment activities.
The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management also requested the Hai Phong City Department of Health to urgently implement the above contents, and promptly report the results to the Ministry of Health and competent authorities.
