Recently, the COVID-19 epidemic situation in Hai Duong province has been on the rise. According to statistics from the Provincial Center for Disease Control, during the week from May 18 to 25, the whole province recorded 51 new cases, an increase of 43 cases compared to the previous week.
The cases are distributed in many localities in the province, with 15 cases being children under 5 years old, 2 cases aged 6 to 18, 19 cases from 18 to 60 years old and 15 cases over 60 years old. Of these, 6 people have underlying medical conditions and 2 pregnant women - a group at high risk when infected with the virus.
At the Department of Infectious Diseases, Hai Duong General Hospital, in just the past 3 weeks, nearly 30 patients with COVID-19 have been admitted to inpatient treatment. Currently, the department is treating 15 patients, most of whom are elderly and weak, with underlying diseases and pregnant women.
Although the cases have not shown any signs of breaking out into large outbreaks, the silent and scattered developments in the community make the work of disease prevention and control un subjective.

In this situation, the Department of Health of Hai Duong province has issued a document directing affiliated units to continue to be proactive and not negligent in disease prevention and control. Medical examination and treatment facilities are required to review and update plans for admission and treatment of people with COVID-19 according to scenarios suitable for each epidemic level.
At the same time, fully prepare isolation areas, medicine, equipment and human resources to be ready to respond in case the complicated epidemic returns.
The provincial health sector recommends that people continue to take epidemic prevention measures such as: wearing masks in public places, keeping personal hygiene, washing their hands regularly, limiting contact when there are signs of illness. People, especially the elderly, people with underlying diseases and pregnant women, need to be more cautious, closely monitor their health and go to medical facilities promptly when necessary.
