"I took the exam, but I was like taking the exam too"
The 10th grade entrance exam is an important milestone, considered the "toughest level transfer exam" for grade 9 students. In Hai Duong, in the last days of May, the review atmosphere is becoming tense in every house with children preparing to take the exam. Behind each student is the quiet but loving companionship of parents.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu (Hai Duong City) said that her daughter will take the entrance exam to Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted. Since the beginning of semester II, I have reduced my evening work to accompany my children in school and take them to extra classes. The contest, which I am also competing in" - she shared with a smile.
With the same mentality, Mr. Tran Van Dung (Gia Loc district) said that although he is busy with work, he always spends the evening talking and encouraging his son who is studying for the exam. "I do not put too much pressure on the scores but just hope my child will take the exam to their full potential. Eating and sleeping regularly is something I always remind my child to do" - Mr. Dung said.
Not only worrying about studying, many parents also try to create the most comfortable spirit for their children. Some families organize light activities such as walking, watching movies, exercising with their children to relieve pressure after school. My children are important in school, but my children are happier and healthy more important, said Ms. Nguyen Hong Nhung (Thanh Ha district).

Accompanying family
Teacher Tran Thi Nga - a teacher at a secondary school in Kinh Mon town said: "The entrance exam for grade 10 is not only the first turning point in the learning journey of students, but also the most stressful period for them at an early age. At this time, many students are stressed and overly worried, affecting both their academic and psychological results. In addition to the care and guidance from teachers, what they need most is the companionship and sharing from their families - especially their parents".
According to Ms. Nga, during the cooling weeks, many parents not only help their children consolidate their knowledge by creating the best learning conditions, but also pay more attention to their children's diet and rest.
Ms. Nga also emphasized the role of connecting schools and families during this period: Our teachers not only review knowledge, but also strive to encourage their spirit, encourage them to maintain a reasonable learning rhythm and sleep. However, if parents do not accompany, it will be very difficult for students to achieve the best results".
According to Hai Duong Department of Education and Training, the whole province has nearly 29,000 9th grade students registering to take the exam in the 10th grade in the school year 2025 - 2026, increasing sharply compared to previous years. The reason is that this year, for the first time, non -public schools and educational institutions regularly use the results of the entrance exam to the 10th grade public high school for admission.
Hai Duong province has about 30,400 grade 9 students, of which the enrollment target for grade 10 for public high schools is more than 15,500. This means that thousands of students will have to choose another path if they do not have enough points to enter public schools. The great competition makes the exam even more stressful for both students and parents.
Understanding that, many schools also coordinate with parents to organize psychological counseling sessions, instruct on exam skills, and choose a suitable school. In addition, the provincial education sector has implemented measures to ensure that the exam takes place seriously, safely and in accordance with regulations.
For many families in Hai Duong, the last days of May and early June are not only a time of tension but also an opportunity to strengthen the love between parents and children. In the journey to the door of high school, companionship and support from the family are the biggest source of motivation to help students firmly pass this important exam.
