Baby born with a returned cyst that is destroying the mother's necrotic duct

Quang Tri - The baby was born at the same time that the doctor discovered the mother's necrotizing torticollis.

On August 18, Quang Ninh Regional General Hospital (Quang Tri province) announced that the unit had just successfully operated on a case of a 36th pregnant woman with a torticollis follicular tumor with signs of necrosis.

The case of intervention was pregnant woman V.T.A, residing in Truong Ninh commune. The patient was admitted to the hospital with severe abdominal pain, accompanied by many red spots in the abdominal skin and increased thai blood pressure. This is Ms. A's second pregnancy, having previously had a cesarean section.

The results of the examination and chupation showed signs of abnormality in the location of the fetus lying down, the mother was scheduled for emergency catching surgery. During the surgery, the medical team discovered a returned ovarian cyst on the right side, pressed into the fetus. The tumor was about 10x9cm in size, weighed about 200g and had signs of necrosis. Immediately after successfully arresting the child, the doctors continued to treat the tumor.

"This pregnant woman discovered the tumor late because she rarely went to a specialist during pregnancy. When there are unusual signs, they go to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the tumor showed signs of necrosis and rupture but did not have much impact on the fetus. If discovered later, the mother and child were in danger of death. After surgery, the mother and young child are both recovering well, said Dr. Pham Thanh Ha - Head of the Obstetrics Department.

According to Dr. Ha, ovarian cysts are bags that contain fluid that develops on or inside the ovaries, and can appear before or during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. If there are complications such as torsion or rupture, the tumor will cause severe pain, bleeding and pose a high risk for both mother and fetus.

Since the above case, doctors have recommended that women of reproductive age need to have regular gynecological health check-ups to detect risks early. Especially during pregnancy, mothers should have a full check-up to monitor the health of mother and baby safely and effectively.
