In recent days, the Lao Cai International Border Gate area has gradually regained order and peace after authorities have drastically implemented measures to handle the situation of illegal foreign currency exchange.
The place that was once chaotic due to the solicitation and invitation to guests has now become airy, creating a sense of safety and civilization for people and tourists passing by.

On August 18, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper at Lao Cai International Border Gate (Lao Cai Ward), along Nguyen Hue Street, many signs prohibiting money exchange have been installed.
Along with that, the management of vehicles to avoid spoiling the aesthetics is also regularly patrolled and controlled by the authorities.
At the time of recording, the number of people crossing the border on both sides through the border gate was not too crowded.

Regularly traveling between China and Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khanh (residing in Muong Khuong commune, Lao Cai province) said: " exchanging money at the border gate is inevitable because when there is supply, there is demand. This time, the authorities are patrolling and controlling continuously, so the situation of foreign currency exchange is also limited. However, because they exchange money outside quickly, without needing procedures and documents, people are still hesitant to go to the bank.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, a truck driver transporting goods around the border gate, shared: "Eliminating solicitation and illegal money exchange in front of the border gate is very good, avoiding unsightly images in the eyes of tourists".
These days, the space around the border gate has become cleaner, more neat and orderly, contributing to building the image of civilized and friendly Lao Cai.

Receiving the reflection of Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Lao Cai Ward People's Committee said that in the coming time, the locality will continue to study how to propagate, warn, and prohibit appropriately to limit this situation.
Major Nguyen Huy Quyen - Head of the Lao Cai International Border Guard Station also informed that the unit will maintain regular inspection forces, coordinate with local authorities and relevant agencies to step up propaganda to people and tourists about legal regulations related to foreign currency trading, to avoid violations.

The current peaceful scene at Lao Cai International Border Gate not only shows the effectiveness of management but also reflects the province's determination to build a transparent and safe business environment.
This is an important premise for Lao Cai to promote the advantages of an international trade center, while building trust for people and tourists, towards sustainable development.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, there are an average of 3,000 - 4,000 entry and exit trips per day through Lao Cai - Ha Khau International Border Gate (Lao Cai Ward).
Taking advantage of many people preparing to go to Hanoi (China) to visit and shop, some subjects approached tourists to solicit money.
exchanging under 5,000 yuan at a rate of 3,750 VND/tael, over 5,000 yuan decreased to 3,720 VND/tael.
On the other hand, if you exchange the currency to Vietnamese currency, the price will only be 3,600 VND/tael. The difference is quite high, but many people still accept it because the procedures are quick and there are no documents required.
Previously, on the afternoon of May 29, Lao Cai International Border Guard Station arrested a subject for storing, transporting, and exchanging counterfeit foreign currency in front of Sapaly Hotel.
