Regarding the issue reflected by citizens, the Culture - Society Department - Phuc Loi Ward People's Committee (Hanoi City) said: Immediately after receiving information, closely following the direction of the Chairman of the Ward People's Committee - Head of the Food Safety Steering Committee, at 3:45 PM on January 15, 2026, the inter-sectoral inspection team of the ward conducted inspection and verification.
The results are as follows: According to the report of Phuc Loi Primary School, at 11:00 AM on January 15, 2026, semi-boarding meals were brought to each class. After 8 minutes, teachers received feedback that there were red chicken thighs, immediately recalled them and did not allow students to eat and reported to the Steering Committee for semi-boarding work.
The Steering Committee for semi-boarding work has requested Ngoi Sao Xanh Food Joint Stock Company to exchange chicken thighs for students. The school has conducted inspections of other classes and no cases have arisen.
As of 4:00 PM on January 16, 2026, no cases of students showing signs of digestive disorders or abnormal signs related to meals were detected.
The inspection team inspected legal documents, conditions on food hygiene and safety, samples stored and samples taken for food testing (fried chicken), preventing food safety incidents from occurring; and at the same time requested Phuc Loi Primary School to seriously implement the provisions of law on food safety (especially in semi-boarding meal organization) to thoroughly grasp and clarify responsibilities for the shortcomings in semi-boarding meal organization.
Based on the inspection results, on January 20, 2026, the Ward People's Committee issued Decision No. 69/QD-XPHC sanctioning administrative violations against Ngoi Sao Xanh Food Joint Stock Company, with a fine of: 8,000,000 VND.
The Ward People's Committee has also requested the company to sign a commitment to strictly comply with food safety regulations.
On January 23, 2026, in result sheet No. 5156/PKN-VKNQG of the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control, it was announced that the test results of fried chicken food samples met food safety criteria.
In the coming time, the Ward People's Committee will conduct surprise inspections and post-inspections of school collective kitchens. Resolutely and strictly handle cases of violations of food safety regulations.
