Dong Thap Electronic Information Portal reported that on the morning of September 19, the provincial Department of Health held a ceremony to announce the implementation of electronic medical records at medical examination and treatment facilities in Dong Thap province.
Attending the meeting were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan, who also led the provincial departments and branches.
Up to this point, Dong Thap has had the first 8 medical facilities to successfully operate electronic medical records. These include Hong Ngu Regional Medical Center, Dong Thap General Hospital, Thap Muoi Regional General Hospital, Sa Dec General Hospital, Cai Lay Regional General Hospital, Cho Gao Regional Medical Center, Tien Giang General Hospital and My Tho Regional Medical Center.
It is known that the goal set by the Dong Thap Health Department is that by September 30, 2025, all hospitals in the province will have to complete the transition to electronic medical records, no longer using paper medical records. This is not only an urgent requirement under the direction of the Ministry of Health, but also a strategic step to bring the provincial health sector closer to the smart hospital model, improving the quality of people's health care.
According to the Dong Thap Department of Health, Electronic medical records are not simply a technological solution, but also a long step forward in efforts to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, taking people's satisfaction as a measure. Dong Thap has been on the right track, gradually affirming its pioneering role in the digital transformation of healthcare.
