The Department of Health informed that the Department has recently held a working session with affiliated medical examination and treatment units to listen to reports on the implementation of electronic medical records and discuss solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process. Mr. Hoang Quoc Cuong, Director of the Department of Health chaired the meeting.
At the meeting, the regional hospitals and health centers under the Department of Health reported on the content related to the current situation and progress of the implementation of electronic medical records at the unit, the difficulties and problems currently encountered; proposed specific solutions, including the standardization of technology infrastructure and the early completion of related administrative procedures.

Most units under the Can Tho City Department of Health have proactively developed plans and organization plans, coordinated with service providers to perfect technical and technological solutions.
Along with that is the continued review and upgrading of software, information technology and other conditions to maintain the implementation of electronic medical records in accordance with each unit, ensuring efficiency, synchronization and unity.
However, the implementation progress is facing some difficulties such as procurement and bidding, limitations in information technology infrastructure, equipment of some units that have been invested in for a long time, are not synchronous, and are degraded.
The Director of the Can Tho City Department of Health requested units to strengthen leadership and direction, urgently deploy the implementation of electronic medical records before September 30.
Units must also continue to review the current status of technical infrastructure, assess actual needs and promptly develop specific plans to send to the Department of Health for synthesis.
