Hanoi recorded 746 cases of COVID-19, an increase over the same period last year

Last week, Hanoi recorded 148 cases of COVID-19, and in 2025, it recorded 746 cases, an increase compared to the same period in 2024.

According to the Hanoi City Center for Disease Control (CDC), in the past week (from June 6 to June 13), the whole city recorded 11 cases of dengue fever; an increase of 5 cases compared to the previous week.

Accumulated in 2025 recorded 282 cases; down compared to the same period in 2024. Patients were recorded in 28 districts, towns and cities.

During the week of no outbreaks, in 2025, a total of 1 outbreak was recorded that had ended operations. In the coming time, the number of dengue fever cases may increase as the disease begins to increase every year.

The city recorded 112 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease in 24 districts, towns and cities; an increase of 9 cases compared to last week. Some units recorded many patients such as: Nam Tu Liem 18, Cau Giay, Ha Dong 12; Thanh Xuan 10; Thanh Oai 8.

Accumulated from 2025 to present, the city recorded 2,839 cases; an increase compared to the same period in 2024 (1,522 cases). Patients are distributed in 30 districts, towns and cities. The number of hand, foot and mouth disease decreased, mainly spreading cases, in the group of children ≤ 3 years old (95%), no complicated outbreaks were recorded. During the week, 1 hand, foot and mouth disease outbreak was recorded in Trung Van, Nam Tu Liem (2 cases).

The cumulative outbreak in 2025 will be 44 outbreaks, with 1 outbreak still active in Nam Tu Liem. During the week, Hanoi recorded 150 measles cases in 25 districts; the number of cases decreased by 18 compared to the previous week. Some units recorded many patients such as: Thanh Tri 15, Ha Dong 12, Long Bien 11, Nam Tu Liem 10.

The Hanoi CDC believes that measles tends to decrease, mainly in people who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated, and forecasts that cases will continue to be recorded in the coming time. In 2025, 3,387 measles cases were recorded in 30/30 districts, towns and cities, 1 death, an increase over the same period in 2024.

Patients are divided by age group: 12.1% under 6 months; 12.9% from 6-8 months; 7.9% from 9 - 11 months; 20.3% from 1 - 5 years old; 14.0% from 6 - 10 years old, 15.0% from 11-15 years old; 17.9% ≥ 16 years old. Recorded 1 case of Rubella in Me Linh ( Female patient, 32 years old, unknown vaccination history). Accumulated in 2025 recorded 2 cases, an increase compared to the same period in 2024.

The city also recorded 148 cases of COVID-19, down 2 cases compared to last week. Accumulated in 2025 recorded 746 cases, an increase compared to the same period in 2024

In the coming time, Hanoi CDC will continue to monitor the old dengue fever outbreak in 2024 in: Dan Phuong, Hoang Mai, Phu Xuyen, Thanh Xuan, Soc Son. District, county and town health centers continue to proactively implement activities to prevent dengue fever, organize disease control campaigns, and spray chemicals to proactively prevent dengue fever in key communes and wards, many patients every year.

Regularly monitor the indicators of tick and mosquitoes transmitting dengue fever in areas with cases, old outbreaks, and high-risk areas, thereby implementing timely response activities. At the same time, ensure the maintenance of a high vaccination rate of vaccines for subjects in the expanded immunization program; regularly review vaccination subjects to organize catch-up vaccination and catch-up vaccination.

Organize regular vaccinations well to ensure vaccination safety. Units closely coordinate with the veterinary sector to closely monitor the epidemic situation in animals and implement interdisciplinary activities on preventing diseases transmitted from animals to humans.

Coordinate with mass media agencies to promote communication work, timely and complete information on the epidemic situation and summer epidemic prevention measures for people to proactively implement, coordinate with the government and the health sector in investigation and handling of the epidemic.
