Periodic health check-ups for more than 3.7 million people in Vinh Long

Vinh Long - By the end of 2026, the province strives for 100% of people to have periodic health check-ups at least once and update data to VNeID.

Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee has just issued a Plan for periodic health check-ups or free screening for people in the province, with the goal that by December 31, 2026, 100% of people will have health check-ups or free screening at least once a year and maintain it in the following years. At the same time, 100% of people after the check-up will be created and updated with an integrated Electronic Health Record on the VNeID application.

According to the plan, the whole province has 3,719,423 people belonging to groups of subjects being organized for examination, including 955,735 people belonging to priority groups such as the elderly, people with disabilities, poor households, near-poor households, people with meritorious services and people with chronic diseases; 654,876 children, students; 1,897,300 workers; and 211,512 people under the management of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security.

The total estimated cost of implementing the program is about 1,301.8 billion VND/year. Of which, the priority group is expected to be more than 334.5 billion VND, children and students more than 229.2 billion VND, workers about 664.1 billion VND, and the group under the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security is about 74 billion VND. The funding is guaranteed from the state budget, the Health Insurance Fund, employers for workers and other legal socialized sources.

According to statistics as of July 30, the province has conducted health check-ups for 40.19% of the population, including 1,084,154 health insurance medical examinations and treatments, 319,842 people belonging to the group considered to have undergone free screening, 211,512 people belonging to the armed forces and 62,556 people who have had periodic health check-ups.

To complete the goal, the province requests to complete the establishment of the Provincial Steering Committee before August 15, commune level before August 20, complete the review of the list of people before August 30, 2026; examination for children under 6 years old, people with meritorious services before September 30, people from 18 years old and older belonging to priority groups before December 15 and workers before December 31.
