Lam Dong creates favorable conditions for people to prescribe overseas medicine

Lam Dong - The Department of Health directs medical facilities in the province to deploy and create favorable conditions for people to prescribe outpatient drugs according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health.

On January 5, the Department of Health of Lam Dong province requested units to study and organize the implementation of prescription and outpatient drug dispensing to ensure compliance with the guidance in Circular 26/2025/TT-BYT, in accordance with the actual conditions of each medical facility.

Accordingly, units need to disseminate and thoroughly grasp to the professional team the content at point b, clause 8, Article 6 of Circular 26, allowing outpatient prescriptions for a maximum of 90 days.

This regulation aims to meet treatment needs, in accordance with the condition of the disease and the list of diseases in Appendix VII issued with the Circular.

Ms. Vo Thi Ai Lieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Health of Lam Dong province, said that outpatient prescriptions must be carried out in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Health, regardless of whether the patient has a health insurance card or not.

Thereby, creating convenience for people and reducing unnecessary procedures when examining and treating patients. Along with that, medical facilities need to strengthen guidance and counseling for patients on how to use drugs, when to re-examine when there are abnormal signs; ensure safety in treatment.

The management of chronic diseases, paraclinical prescriptions and prescriptions must be carried out strictly and effectively, contributing to the use of the health insurance fund to be economical and in accordance with regulations.
