The victim was Rmah Khin (born in 2022, Tung Mo B village, Ia Dreng commune, Chu Puh district).
According to the family, when he followed his parents to the fields in Sur A village ( Ia Ko commune, Chu Se district), he was bitten by a stray dog. However, the family did not take the child to a medical facility for consultation and vaccination against rabies.
On the morning of April 25, the child showed symptoms: High fever, agitation, screaming, chills, loss of appetite and whole body twitching, so he was taken to Chu Puh District Medical Center.
The child was then transferred to Gia Lai Provincial Children's Hospital for further treatment.
Here, the patient had fever, vomiting yellow yellow yellow yellow, rapid breathing, slow light reflectance, respiratory failure, convulsions, and rabies. The family then asked to take the child home.
On April 27, Rmah Khin died. In addition, 3 people exposed have been monitored and advised on rabies vaccination.
It is known that from the beginning of 2025 to now, Gia Lai province has recorded 4 deaths from rabies in the districts of Chu Pah, Ia Grai, Ia Pa and Chu Puh.
