Da Nang - Da Nang City is gradually innovating the health system to adapt to the aging population and health challenges from climate change.

On the morning of April 10, Da Nang City People's Committee coordinated with the Department of Health to organize a meeting to launch "All People's Health Day" and respond to "World Health Day 2026".

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee emphasized that health is the most precious asset of human beings and is the foundation for the sustainable development of the country. Vietnam's official choice of April 7 every year as National Health Day (starting from 2026) demonstrates the Government's strong commitment to implementing global development goals.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi affirmed: "Da Nang identifies taking care of people's health as one of the pillars of development, a xuyên suốt task of the entire political system. We need to change the approach: Switching from passive to proactive, from focusing on treatment to prioritizing prevention, and from the separate responsibility of the health sector to the participation of the whole society.

According to Ms. Tran Thanh Thuy, Director of Da Nang Department of Health, although the city's health system has achieved many important results in digital transformation and improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, new challenges such as non-communicable diseases, population aging and climate change are still present.

To cope with this, the Director of the Department of Health called for changes from each individual: "Health is not only created from medical facilities but must start from the awareness, habits, and daily practices of each person, in each family, each residential area. Each person needs to proactively equip themselves with health care knowledge, actively exercise their body, practice reasonable eating, form the habit of periodic health check-ups and early screening. A healthy body is an important foundation for preventing diseases and improving the quality of life.

The rally attracted the participation of more than 2,000 people, including 500 delegates from all levels and more than 1,400 people participating in the parade.

The event is not only a movement activity but also an action to concretize Resolution No. 72 of the Politburo and the Action Program of the Da Nang City Party Committee on protecting, caring for and improving people's health.

In the coming time, the city will continue to focus on investing in grassroots healthcare, promoting digital transformation in health management (electronic health records) and building a green - clean - beautiful living environment. The ultimate goal is to build a civilized community where each citizen has the awareness to consciously protect their own and their family's health.
