At the task handover ceremony, Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism shared: "I am very honored that yesterday (April 8) I was awarded the appointment decision by the General Secretary and President and today I am honored to take on the responsibility of Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. I understand that I am taking on not just a position, but the connection of a journey full of enthusiasm and intelligence of previous generations," Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh confided.
New Minister Lam Thi Phuong Thanh shared that, through 80 years of construction and development, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector has continuously grown stronger, making many important, persistent and profound contributions to the revolutionary and glorious cause of the Party and the nation, and at the same time continuously of the spiritual foundation of society, fostering patriotism, self-reliance and aspiration to rise up, contributing to improving the physical fitness, intellectual stature, and bravery of Vietnamese people, developing tourism worthy of its potential and advantages, and promoting the image of the country, culture and technology of Vietnam to the world.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Party and State leaders, to the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Government, and the National Assembly for trusting and assigning tasks, and to sincerely thank the previous generations of leaders and the contributions of generations of people working in culture, information, sports and tourism in all periods who have painstakingly built the precious foundation of the industry. Especially, I would like to express my sincere feelings and thanks to Comrade Minister Nguyen Van Hung, my predecessor Minister and also a brother, a friend who has loved me for many years...", the new Minister emotionally shared.
According to Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, after a term of many difficulties but with many important imprints, the culture, information, sports, and tourism sectors have achieved quite comprehensively and have many breakthroughs. Notably, advising on perfecting institutions and policies with a very large volume of legal documents and advising on promulgating the National Target Program on cultural development for the period 2025 - 2035, Resolution 80 of the Politburo on cultural development of Vietnam; successfully organized many major political and cultural events of the country, promoted the development of cultural industry, foreign culture, promoted the national image, arranged and consolidated the organizational structure, mobilized and used more effectively development resources.
Under the leadership of Comrade Nguyen Van Hung, the former Minister has made very important changes in awareness and institutions to develop culture, sports, and tourism in the past term. At the same time, it also gives us valuable experiences in thinking, working methods, bravery, enthusiasm and responsibility to the industry of Comrade Nguyen Van Hung.

These areas have been decided by our Party to be the foundation, the important pillar to create the soft power of the nation, create internal strength, belief and motivation to promote rapid and sustainable development of the country, setting high responsibilities with many requirements of new tasks, of the industry, in the newly assigned context.
Accepting the task in that context, for me, besides the honor, there are many concerns about the very heavy responsibility of the head, before so much work to be done, so many difficulties and challenges to overcome, requiring us, continuous creativity, continuous breakthrough, overcoming conventional methods, normal progress, exceeding our own limits so that culture, sports, and tourism continue to have strong and in-depth development, creating new values, new resources and new growth," Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh expressed.
Also according to Minister Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, the highest measure of cultural development is the quality of people and the level of perception of the good values of social life and in each family, which is fairness for creativity and enjoyment of those good values and achievements. Culture develops and has a stronger spread as people live better, live more beautifully and be more responsible.
Sports are not only health, stature but also intelligence, will, bravery, spirit of overcoming difficulties, discipline, honesty, team spirit, self-confidence, self-strengthening, national pride. The attraction of tourism is not only beautiful landscapes, but must take unique products, rich in identity, creating experiences, cultural depth, touching the hearts of tourists. For some cultural industries, the advantage must be creative economic sectors expressed in the modern language of science and technology, of digitization, that can breathe life into the thousand-year-old heritage to become vivid, fresh and attractive, bringing practical contributions to the country, towards the important goals set out by the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, Resolution 80 of the Politburo and important strategies for national development with very high requirements.
Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh emphasized that we must not only continue to develop but also break through and rise up, not only grow but also develop quickly, sustainably, and comprehensively, enhancing the responsibility for life and happiness of the people. The press must maintain its role as a guide, leading, creating standards and a reliable, healthy and truthful information environment, and at the same time must have a constructive and highly combative spirit, promptly fighting and refuting false and toxic information. The field of the industry is very broad, with a large scope of impact and influence in the context of increasingly deep international integration.
We need to urgently complete institutions, develop culture, information, sports, and tourism in a synchronous and visionary manner to open and repair roads as stated in the opening of the First Session of the 16th National Assembly, the General Secretary, not only to open roads but also to repair roads for long-term development and how to ensure that each policy, each decision of the sector must originate from life, must promptly solve problems, clear bottlenecks, and clear all resources to promote development, creating spiritual and material values for society and people. At the same time, an important and consistent requirement for the industry is to quickly innovate management thinking to constructive thinking, development, creating space for artists, businesses and the community to contribute to cultural development in other fields of the industry; strengthen orientation and guidance to minimize unnecessary administrative procedures; strengthen decentralization and delegation of power associated with inspection and supervision in all fields to improve the efficiency of state management. I don't expect us to be able to do great things immediately, but personally I will work with all my dedication, receptiveness, exemplaryness, responsibility and decisiveness with the leadership collective, cadres, party members, civil servants and employees of the Ministry, striving to build a professional and transparent working environment, where everyone clearly recognizes their responsibilities and meaning of work, proactively doing their work, functions and tasks of their unit with the highest efficiency," Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh emphasized.
The true strength of the Ministry and the sector lies in the consensus, solidarity, spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to innovate and create, daring to take responsibility for the common good and persistently and persistently turning difficulties and challenges into motivation.
