Delay practice time, prioritize keeping warm when the monsoon comes
Recorded at major parks in Hanoi such as Cau Giay, Nghia Do... the bustling atmosphere at 5am is usually gone. Instead, it was not until the sun was shining and the fog cleared, that the number of people pouring in to practice began to increase. Given the erratic weather, adjusting your living schedule is considered the most practical solution to maintain your health.
Ms. Ta Thi Hong Hanh (Cau Giay ward), a person who regularly exercises at the park, said that she has completely changed the exercise schedule. Instead of going from a shady morning, she waited until 6:30 or 7:00, when the temperature increased a little before leaving the house.
"On days when it's too cold, I go later. Going to school to stay healthy, so staying warm is more important than sticking to the old bedtime. After a long night of not being active, it is better to breathe fresh air in the morning than sitting at home, but you have to choose when the weather is warm to dare to go," Ms. Hanh shared.

Sharing the same view, Ms. Khuat Thi Dung (Cau Giay ward) also said that she used to go to work out at 5am - 5:30am. However, when winter arrived, she postponed the schedule to 6:30.
"After retiring, I have a good time, so I don't have to rush to do anything. The house is near the park, every time I see a clear, less cold sky, I leave. Going to practice this time is not much costly, people are healthy, but going early too late can easily make them sick," said Ms. Dung.

In addition to changing the time, the costumes of the "older brothers and sisters" are also more reserved with life jackets, sweaters and masks to avoid the wind from reversing into the body during exercise.
Absolutely do not go out when it is too cold
People's proactive change of habits is a positive signal, however, health experts still make many important recommendations. Exercise is a good habit, but when the temperature drops too low, it is a double-edged sword, which suddenly increases the risk of respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases and stroke, especially in the elderly with poor resistance.
Discussing this issue, Dr. Nguyen Thi Huyen - Deputy Head of the Examination Department, Central Lung Hospital emphasized that when the weather turns cold, people should absolutely not wake up too early to go out. The human body after a long sleep needs time to adapt, sudden exposure to the cold air flow outside can easily cause heat shock.
"We recommend that people wait until there is sunlight and the temperature increases to start exercising outdoors. If the temperature is too low, the wind and sparkle are weak, it is best to switch to gentle exercises indoors, in a closed space to avoid body temperature changes too quickly," said Dr. Huyen.

In addition to adjusting the time, nutrition and living conditions during the winter also play a key role. According to Dr. Huyen, people need to pay attention to keeping their bodies warm, especially the neck, chest and head. A mistake many people make is to get bored drinking water in winter because they do not feel thirsty. However, drinking enough water, supplementing vitamins from green vegetables, fruits and maintaining a nutritious diet play an important role in strengthening the immune system.
