Faced with the complicated developments of the measles epidemic across the country, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Quang Binh province has issued a document requesting local health centers to urgently review and register the vaccine needs for children aged 6 months to 10 years. At the same time, the provincial CDC also advised the Department of Health to submit to the Provincial People's Committee to issue a plan to implement a measles vaccination campaign in March 2025 at the request of the Prime Minister.
On March 19, the CDC Quang Binh said that since the beginning of the year, the whole province has recorded 75 cases of suspected measles rash fever, of which 53 cases tested positive for measles virus. The cases are mainly concentrated in localities such as Bo Trach, Minh Hoa and Ba Don. To control the epidemic, the measles vaccination rate must reach at least 95% to create community immunity.
The provincial CDC has issued an official dispatch requesting district, town and city health centers to strengthen communication on measles prevention and control through the loudspeaker system, social networks and mass media. The goal is to raise people's awareness of the dangers of measles as well as the importance of vaccination, contributing to disease control and protecting public health.
