As Lao Dong reported, from the beginning of May until now, the whole Thai Nguyen province has recorded 55 cases of COVID-19. Many cases detected at agencies and schools show the risk of the epidemic spreading silently if not strictly controlled.
Faced with the above situation, the Thai Nguyen Department of Health issued an official dispatch requesting relevant units to review and strengthen the capacity to examine, detect and treat cases. At the same time, develop epidemic prevention plans, prepare human resources, equipment, facilities and activate the epidemic prevention system when necessary.

The inspection team chaired by the Thai Nguyen Department of Health and CDC was established, working directly at medical facilities to assess the implementation status, record difficulties, problems and find solutions.
Medical facilities in Thai Nguyen have developed an epidemic prevention plan, patients with suspected symptoms are transferred to infectious clinics.
Quarantine, treatment, chemical and epidemic prevention equipment areas are also prepared to prevent complicated epidemics.
According to Director of Thai Nguyen City Medical Center Ha Duc Trinh, after receiving the directive document from the Department of Health, the unit deployed it to the departments, health stations of communes and wards and inventoried all supplies and equipment for epidemic prevention.
Currently, the center manages more than 1.2 tons of Cloramin B, of which more than 900kg is from natural disaster prevention sources. The Center has proposed converting the source of use for COVID-19 prevention.
Thai Nguyen City Medical Center has also reactivated 5 rapid response teams, arranging a newly built floor with 4 rooms and 18 beds as a quarantine area. In case the number of cases increases, the quarantine area may be expanded.

Epidemic prevention plans and solutions have also been proactively deployed at A Thai Nguyen Hospital. Deputy Director of Thai Nguyen A Hospital Nguyen Thanh Tung said that all patients with suspected symptoms were immediately diverted from the examination department and transferred directly to the infectious clinic.
The Department of Infectious Diseases maintains 15 - 20 isolation beds, some other departments also arrange 1-2 backup isolation rooms. The hospital ensures adequate supplies such as airbikes, N95 masks, protective gear, disinfectants and strict infection control. In the scenario of increased cases, the Infectious Diseases Department will be completely converted into a COVID-19 treatment area.
According to the plan, in the coming time, the Department of Health and CDC of Thai Nguyen province will continue to inspect and supervise the preparation for admission, treatment, and emergency care at local hospitals and medical centers.
The focus is on response to high-risk patients, district flow, infection control and ensuring materials and human resources according to the 4-on-site motto.
