On June 1, the Office of the Hue City People's Committee said that the Hue Monuments Conservation Center had held a review meeting to handle the responsibilities of individuals related to the Nguyen Dynasty Golden Throne national treasure being attacked at Thai Hoa Palace.
The Center and the Protection Management Department - Hue Royal Antiquities Museum were criticized, demanding a deep experience before the Hue City People's Committee. In the Center's Board of Directors, 4 leaders including Director Hoang Viet Trung and three Deputy Directors: Phan Van Tuan, Nguyen Phuoc Hai Trung, Le Cong Son were all required to be reviewed.
The two security guards on duty at Thai Hoa Palace on the day of the incident (May 24), Mr. Dang Quang L and Mr. Dao Hoang V - were disciplined and dismissed. In addition, the team leader and deputy team leader of the area protection team were also reprimanded.
The People's Committee of Hue City affirmed that it will continue to direct the tightening of measures to protect and supervise artifacts, especially national treasures at relic sites.
