At noon on October 25, in Chau Thanh district (Kien Giang province), a truck caught fire while traveling on the road.
According to initial information, the driver from Soc Trang province was driving a double-decker truck with a HCMC license plate carrying about 30 new motorbikes, traveling on National Highway 63 from An Bien district to Chau Thanh district.
When arriving at the road section of An Binh hamlet, Binh An commune, Chau Thanh district, passersby discovered the rear of the car on fire and informed the driver. After being called by people on the road, the driver quickly stopped the car to put out the fire.
Although the driver tried to put out the fire and save the goods, due to the strong wind at the time, the fire spread quickly, engulfing the entire rear of the vehicle. The driver drove the vehicle to the side of the road and found water to put out the fire.
Upon receiving the news, Chau Thanh District authorities quickly arrived at the scene with local residents and drivers to put out the fire. However, the large fire quickly burned down 18 vehicles on the upper floor and damaged several vehicles on the lower floor. The truck was also severely damaged.
The case is under further investigation.
