On May 5, the Criminal Police Department (CSHS) of Quang Nam Provincial Police said that the unit had just successfully dismantled a group of subjects related to the acts of " reported kidnapping to appropriate property" and "gambling". A total of 11 people have been detained to serve the investigation.
According to initial information, on April 26-27, Nguyen Thanh Chuong (born in 1983), Vo Van Thuan (born in 1994, both residing in Dai Loc district, Quang Nam) and Pham Thanh Tuan (born in 1981, residing in Tay Giang district, Quang Nam) organized an illegal gambling in the form of shaking the board.
This group used pre-implemented fraud tools such as cups, pipes, and military spoons, thereby appropriating about 59 million VND from participants.
Detecting fraudulent acts, group 8 subjects losing silver including: Nguyen Thanh Long (SN 1993), Thai Viet Hao (SN 1989, resident of Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam); Nguyen Van should (SN 1981, resident of Yen My district, Hung Yen); Phan Le Minh Viet (SN 2002), Phan Le Minh Khanh (SN 1997), Do Van Cam (SN 1985), Le Van Loi (SN 1981, resident of Tay Giang district, Quang Nam) and Le Hoang Viet (SN 2002, resident of Dai Loc district, Quang Nam) have planned to arrest Chuong, Tuan and Thuan groups to reclaim the amount of money lost.

On April 28, in Lang commune (Tay Giang district), Long's group controlled and beat Chuong and Tuan, forcing them to call Vo Van Thuan to give them 410 million VND as a bribes. However, Thuan only handed over 43.8 million VND. Without stopping, the kidnapping group continued to force the victim to call more to transfer enough money before releasing the person.
At around 2:00 a.m. on April 29, while this group was holding people to continue demanding bribes, they were discovered and caught red-handed by the Quang Nam Provincial Police.
The investigation agency has temporarily detained 8 subjects including: Long, Hao, Nen, Viet, Khanh, Cam, Loi and Hoang Viet for the act of " reported kidnapping to appropriate property". The remaining three subjects, Chuong, Tuan and Thuan, were detained for "gambling".
The police force is continuing to expand the investigation of the case.
