On June 17, the People's Court of Hue City tried the case of "Organizing others to stay in Vietnam illegally" against 4 defendants: Nguyen Duy Dung, Nguyen Ngoc Phong, Pham Truong Giang and Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, all residing in Quang Ninh.
Accordingly, Dung illegally transported 12 Chinese people from Ha Long to Ho Chi Minh City for 120 million VND.
After that, Dung hired Phong to take the trip for 60 million VND. Phong invited Giang to support the driver and Tuyen to go with him to deduct the debt.
In the early morning of December 6, 2024, Phong group received 12 people at Tuan Chau Tourist Area and began their journey.
In the afternoon of the same day, when the car passed through the Cam Lo - La Son expressway (Hue), the traffic police force checked and discovered that the group of Chinese people had no identification documents.
The panel sentenced Dung to 5 years and 3 months in prison, Phong to 5 years and 1 month, and Giang and Tuyen to 5 years in prison each.
