With the goal of handing over clean ground on schedule to the construction unit, on July 9, Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Committee (An Giang province) and functional forces drastically launched a campaign, both persistently mobilizing and implementing strict legal measures against cases of intentionally not handing over land.
In this peak period, Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Committee has issued a total of 69 decisions on coercive land recovery for households and individuals who have not complied.
Thanks to the good implementation of the motto "going through every alley, knocking on every door", persistent dialogue and putting the legitimate rights of the people first, up to this point, the working groups have successfully mobilized and persuaded 55 cases to voluntarily comply with the handover of land, reaching a rate of nearly 80%.

Mr. Tran Minh Khoa - Chairman of Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Committee - said: "The site clearance and land compensation work is a process that takes a lot of time and is complicated, related to the direct rights of people. However, the Special Zone People's Committee as well as departments and agencies have intervened, have done all steps, procedures and formalities, especially mobilization and persuasion to help people understand and support.
Besides the majority of people who are exemplary in complying, there are still 14 cases of intentional non-coordination, forcing the Special Zone's Land Recovery Enforcement Board to deploy a mandatory enforcement plan. The total processed area this time is 6,390.3 m2, mainly vacant land and 1 case of temporary structures on land.
