On April 15, Phuoc Thang Ward People's Committee (HCMC) organized land recovery enforcement for cases that have not complied with the handover of land to implement the Vung Tau Main Road project, the section from the Vung Tau - Binh Thuan coastal road intersection (DT994) to the 2/9 and 3/2 roundabout intersection (Phuoc Thang ward).
According to Phuoc Thang Ward People's Committee, these are the remaining cases in the area with land within the project scope but have not handed over the site even though the locality has completed compensation and support policies and repeatedly propagated and mobilized.
Before the time of coercion, the local government established working groups to visit 16 households on the list to conduct explanations, dialogues, and mobilize them to comply with the general policy. As a result, 7/16 households agreed and signed land handover minutes.
Therefore, the locality only implemented coercion according to regulations for the remaining 9 cases. The process of inventorying and relocating assets was carried out closely, ensuring the correct procedures and the legitimate rights of the people.
After completing the coercion work, the site will be handed over to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to organize construction and accelerate the construction progress.
It is known that the Vung Tau main road project has a length of 2.87 km, starting from the Vung Tau - Binh Thuan coastal road intersection (DT994) to the 2/9 and 3/2 road roundabout (Phuoc Thang ward), with a total investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND. This is also one of the 3 component projects of the road connecting to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway. The project needs to recover about 21.68ha of land, affecting 391 households and individuals. Before the coercion period, 382 cases agreed to hand over more than 21ha, reaching 98% of the total area to be recovered.
The completion of site clearance will contribute to creating conditions to accelerate the project implementation and completion, creating a smooth traffic axis from Bien Hoa to Vung Tau, synchronously connecting with the coastal road DT994 and the traffic infrastructure network in the area.
