Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Chi Hung has just signed and issued Decision No. 44 specifically regulating the conditions for land division, land consolidation and the minimum area allowed for land division for each type of land in the area.
This regulation applies to state agencies, organizations, households, individuals, communities, overseas Vietnamese, and people of Vietnamese origin residing abroad who use land to carry out procedures for land division or land consolidation.
Accordingly, the minimum area for land division for residential land (all wards) is 40m2 and 60m2 for all communes.
For non-agricultural land other than residential land (all communes and wards), the minimum area is 80m2.
For perennial land (all wards), the minimum area is 150m2 and 300m2 for land in all communes.
Other annual crop land, forestry land, aquaculture land, concentrated livestock land, salt-making land and other agricultural land (all communes and wards) with a minimum area of 500m2.
Rice land (all communes and wards) has a minimum area of 1000m2.
The Decision also stipulates the conditions for land division, land consolidation and the minimum area for land division for each type of land in the city.
The decision takes effect from December 11, 2025, and at the same time, abolishes a number of previous decisions related to the conditions for land division and consolidation in Can Tho City, Hau Giang Province and Soc Trang.
