In mid-June, the construction atmosphere at key school projects in Lao Cai became more urgent than ever.
Through research, just a few months before entering the 2026-2027 school year, many key school projects in the highlands of Lao Cai are accelerating construction.
At the construction sites, hundreds of workers and machinery and equipment are mobilized to speed up the progress of items to put the project into use.

Along with the requirement to complete on schedule, some projects have also been adjusted to increase the total investment to supplement items, complete facilities, and better meet the learning and living needs of students.
Information from the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, 4 projects of Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary Schools in Muong Khuong, Y Ty, A Mu Sung and Pha Long currently reach from 55% to 75% of the construction volume.

Many key items have completed the rough construction, moving to the architectural completion stage, installing technical systems and equipment.
In the process of implementation, the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee has approved the adjustment of the total investment for two projects in Muong Khuong and Pha Long, raising the total additional capital to more than 80 billion VND.
The adjustment aims to supplement necessary items, synchronously complete technical infrastructure, and meet actual usage requirements after the project is completed.
The project of Muong Khuong Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School was adjusted from 215 billion VND to 255 billion VND, an increase of 40 billion VND.
The project is built on an area of nearly 5 hectares, including 9 building blocks with a scale of 28 classrooms, meeting the learning and living needs of about 980 students.
Reporters' records at the construction site show that the rough construction of most building blocks has been completed.
Classrooms, administration areas, dormitories, dining rooms and multi-purpose buildings are being focused on completion. The total construction volume of the entire project currently reaches about 75%.

Meanwhile, the project of Pha Long Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School was adjusted with a total investment from 220 billion VND to 262.8 billion VND, an increase of 42.8 billion VND.
This is a large-scale project consisting of 11 building blocks, serving about 980 students in the border area. To date, the implemented volume has reached about 55% of the plan.
Mr. Giang A Chu, a resident of Pha Long commune, believes that investing and completing the project items will help students in border areas access a more spacious and complete learning environment.
People all hope the project will be completed soon so that their children have a stable place to study, especially in the rainy season or cold winter," Mr. Chu said.

Representatives of the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the capital increase does not change the investment objectives of the projects but aims to complete the works in a synchronous manner, ensuring quality and long-term exploitation efficiency.
According to the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, contractors are focusing manpower, materials and equipment to speed up construction progress. Many finishing materials such as doors, sanitary equipment, and electrical and plumbing materials have been gathered and are ready for installation in the near future.
When completed, the projects will not only meet the learning needs of thousands of students but also contribute to completing the school network in border areas, creating motivation to improve the quality of education in the highlands of Lao Cai.
