Speaking at the program, Mr. Bui Minh Thanh - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that the event announcing the North Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Urban Development Project is an important milestone, showing Ho Chi Minh City's political determination to realize the major policies of the Central Government on science and technology development, innovation and growth model transformation in the new period.
Mr. Bui Minh Thanh acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of Becamex Group over the past 10 years, together with domestic and foreign partners, who have proactively invested in building infrastructure and a science and technology and innovation ecosystem in the northern area of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Mr. Bui Minh Thanh, Bac Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Urban Area has a special strategic position in the overall spatial development of the City and the Southeast region.
The North of Ho Chi Minh City has the advantage of being an industrial capital, capable of absorbing and converting logistics and clean energy resources into scientific and technological capacity, innovation and high-tech production, meeting the increasingly strict requirements of global value chains.
Therefore, Bac Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Urban Area plays a strategic supporting role, in parallel with Ho Chi Minh City's Financial Center. These two pillars complement each other, creating a balanced development structure, helping Ho Chi Minh City improve its long-term competitiveness" - Mr. Bui Minh Thanh said.
Mr. Bui Minh Thanh emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City is committed to accompanying and strongly supporting throughout the project implementation process. In particular, the city will accompany and support investors, businesses, research institutes, domestic and international organizations to participate in the development of North Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Urban Area.
The core area of the Science and Technology Urban Area is 323ha.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the North Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Urban Area is organized into a development space according to an integrated structure. In which, the center for science and technology development with a scale of about 103 hectares. In addition, there are 220 hectares of facilities for research and development, high-tech production, and small-scale testing. These two spaces form a core brain area for innovation and creativity concentrated in Binh Duong ward. The North Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Urban Area also has a belt with many industrial parks as production spaces.
