On January 13, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and units held a press conference to announce the development of the "Northern Science and Technology Urban Area of Ho Chi Minh City".
The organizing committee said that "North Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Urban Area" is a strategic orientation project of Ho Chi Minh City in shaping and defining a large-scale science and technology development space. This urban area is associated with the high-tech production corridor in the North and Northwest areas of Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Urban Area is organized into a development space according to an integrated structure. In which, the science and technology development center with a scale of about 103 hectares. In addition, there are 220 hectares of facilities for research and development, high-tech production, and small-scale testing. These two spaces form the core area for innovation and creativity concentrated in Binh Duong ward.
Bac Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Urban Area also has a high-tech development belt, including large-scale science and technology industrial parks such as: Binh Duong Riverside, Lai Hung, Cay Truong, VSIP III. This area creates a space to realize research results through trial production and mass production. Thus, the research space is adjacent to the production space.

There are many projects that create momentum for the development of science and technology urban areas, notably the old Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Center building. This building will be converted to use as a space for research, application, community connection, creative startups....
Regarding transportation, there will be many key traffic routes connecting with the Northern Science and Technology Urban Area of Ho Chi Minh City such as: National Highway 13, My Phuoc - Tan Van, Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City, Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City, urban railway...

The organizing committee said that the North Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Urban Project contributes to forming a new growth engine of Ho Chi Minh City based on the knowledge economy, science and technology and innovation. Promoting economic restructuring towards increasing services, contributing the proportion of industries with high added value, high technology and knowledge content. The formation of a science and technology urban space is also expected to create motivation to attract FDI and create more new jobs.
Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports said that the official announcement ceremony for Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Urban Area will officially take place on January 15 at the Binh Duong Conference and Exhibition Center, Binh Duong ward.
