At the press conference in June 2026 held on the morning of June 25, the Department of Finance of Dong Thap said that to date, the whole province has 12 social housing projects with a scale of 4,749 apartments. Of which, 4 projects have been completed and put into use with 1,175 apartments; currently there are 213 apartments being sold or leased for purchase. In the period 2026 - 2030, the province is implementing 8 social housing projects.
Among these, 5 projects are under construction with a scale of 2,124 apartments, and 3 projects are completing investment procedures, expected to build an additional 1,450 apartments.
In addition, Dong Thap is carrying out procedures to invite investment in 3 new social housing projects on an area of more than 70 hectares, with a scale of about 17,268 apartments. This is considered an important source of supply to meet the housing needs of low-income people, workers and policy beneficiaries in the coming time.
According to the plan assigned by the Government, Dong Thap strives to complete 12,200 social housing units in the period 2026 - 2030, of which 2,000 units will be built in 2026; 2,500 units each year in 2027 and 2028; 2,600 units will be completed each year in 2029 and 2030.
Accelerating the progress of ongoing projects, along with proactively attracting investors to implement new projects, is expected to contribute to realizing the goal of social housing development, ensuring social security, and creating motivation for urban development and attracting human resources to serve the province's economic development.
