The ceremony was held at N1 street (Binh Tao neighborhood, Trung An ward, Dong Thap province).
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai emphasized the practical significance of the project to build public housing, aiming to create conditions for cadres, civil servants, and public employees to have stable accommodation and feel secure in their work when mobilized and rotated.
The project not only serves cadres transferred from the old Dong Thap province, but also creates a housing fund to arrange for later cadres who are transferred and rotated to work in Dong Thap province.
In the long term, this area is organized into a concentrated housing complex; including Trade Union housing, social housing and related works. Thereby forming a synchronous residential area, creating conditions for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to have stable and long-term accommodation.
Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai requested the investor and construction contractor to shorten the progress early but must ensure the quality of the project; noting that departments, branches and local authorities need to closely coordinate to organize synchronous traffic infrastructure planning, avoid congestion and ensure a thoughtful public living space for officials and civil servants to live.
It is known that the Dong Thap Provincial Public Housing Project is invested by the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board. This is a level I civil project, group B project, implemented on a land area of more than 8,267m2, with a total investment of more than 418 billion VND from the provincial budget.
The project includes a 9-story main building (01 basement and 08 above-ground floors) with 285 apartments (155 apartments with an area of over 70m2 and 130 apartments with an area of under 60m2), along with a synchronous auxiliary technical infrastructure system. The winning contractor is the Dong Thap Public Works Housing Joint Venture (leading the joint venture is Corporation 319 - Ministry of National Defense).
The expected construction time is 360 days and will be completed in July 2027.
